Chlamydia Screening

Chlamydia is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the UK.

It is passed on from one person to another through unprotected sex (sex without the use of a condom) and is particularly common in sexually active teenagers and young adults.

If you are under 25 years old and are sexually active, it is recommended that you are tested for Chlamydia every year or whenever you change sexual partner.

Chlamydia screening kits are available from the surgery.  You do not need to see your GP or nurse.  Simply look for the screening kit bins which are located in reception and also in the patient information area of our waiting room.  Take the appropriate kit and do the test at home.  This can then be posted directly in the envelope provided and the result will be sent you personally.  Full details are provided in the kit instructions.

Should you require any further information, our reception team will be happy to help.
