Making an Appointment

PLEASE SEE OUR BOOKING INFORMATION BELOW

Please telephone or call into the surgery to make an appointment. If you are registered for online services you can also book your appointment via Patient Access or the NHS App website or phone app.

We offer a range of appointment options:

  • Telephone Consultations
  • Video Consultations
  • Online Consultations
  • Face to face Consultations

All GP appointments are booked as initial Telephone Consultations unless you state otherwise.  Your appointment will be then be fast-tracked to a face-to-face appointment, should your GP feel that this is necessary.  Due to increased pressures, GPs are busier than ususal and so we cannot specify an exact time that you will receive your Telephone consultation You will be contacted as close as possible to the time given but this could be within a 1hr time frame.

Where a GP contacts you and receives no response you may be required to re-book your appointment for an alternative time.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU GIVE THE BEST CONTACT NUMBER FOR US TO CALL YOU ON (even if this is not your ususal contact number)

PLEASE TRY TO BE AVAILABLE WITHN THE STATED TIME FRAME

If your need is urgent we will do our utmost to offer you an urgent appointment at the end of morning surgery or at the beginning of afternoon surgery.

If you secure an urgent appointment this will be shorter than a routine appointment and will only deal with the urgent problem at hand.  As these appointments are in addition to routine surgeries, you may have to wait to see the doctor - please be patient.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.

All Practice Nurse appointments are Face to Face unless a Telephone Consulation would be deemed as more appropriate.

Healthcare Assistants

HCAs essentially provide appointments for Blood tests, B12 injections, ECGs, Blood Pressure, Height Weight & BMI, NHS Health Checks, INR, Diabetes reviews. These will all require a Face to Face appointment.

Home Visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception as soon as possible after 08:00.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
